Hardwick Hall

Hi Darlings,

On my old blog, I used to have a segment called "Girl about Town," and it focused on my days out and trips etc. I have decided to resurrect it for this blog, because now I have finished university, I will hopefully be able to visit more places around London/England/wider world (finances depending.)

On Friday I graduated from university (woohoo!) and as we had to drive all the way up to Sheffield for a 9:30am ceremony (wahhhhh?!) it was decided to go up the night before. This meant that we had ample time to stop off at Hardwick Hall before continuing to our hotel. Now, my Mum and I are both History nuts, as both of us studied it, and my Mum still teaches it, so the promise of a large Elizabethan stately home was pretty exciting to say the least.

Hardwick Hall was built between 1590-1597, and was owned by Bess of Hardwick, who was an incredibly shrewd businesswoman and noble during Elizabethan England. Hardwick Hall was one of the first buildings in England to be built with Renaissance influence, previously seen in Italy during this period. It is made up of two Halls, extensive grounds and a cotton mill. As we only had limited time, we decided to wander around the New Hall and the gardens as these are probably the most impressive of the estate.

For you Harry Potter fans out there, you may recognise this location as it was used as the exterior of Malfoy Manor in the Deathly Hallows part 1!!

Lush Dream Cream || Review

Hi Darlings,

If you follow me on social media, then you'll be aware that over the last month, I have finally got tattooed!! It has been sat on my bucket list for so long and I finally took that plunge and got two small pieces on my feet and ankle.

When I got my first tattoo, my artist recommended using Dream Cream from Lush as the healing cream for my skin. Now I knew zilch about tattoo aftercare, so I followed her advice to the T; and for the most part it worked, incredibly well. I have found that with my second tattoo being on the side of my foot, that I used Bepanthan initially, to protect it from rubbing. However, as it is scabbed over, it is back to Lush Dream Cream!!

London Pride 2017

Hi Darlings,

So here we are at the end of the Pride posts! I had the absolute delight of attending London Pride on Saturday waving my bisexual flag proudly! I knew this year I wanted to elevate my outfit to make sure I really stood out and also, because there is no such thing as overdressed at Pride! As mentioned in this post, I commented that my look was going to be a pinup bisexual vintage look.

I adored my outfit this year! So many people came up and complimented myself and my friends, some even took photos (!!) so I know there is now pressure to up my look for next year!

Wonder Woman Review

Hi Darlings,

OK, so I saw Wonder Woman the other day and to say the film resonated with me is an understatement. As a huge comic book and Superhero fan, I was overwhelmed at watching a female superhero, not only be totally badass, but be the protagonist of the film. I knew I had to write a review of it, and while I am aware my blog has changed from its original purpose, I will be incorporating more reviews so I hope you enjoy!

Also this review will contain SPOILERS so if you haven't seen the film yet, what are you doing?? Go! Go! Go!!

Bisexual themed makeup!

Hi Darlings,

Pride month is sadly drawing to a close, (sadface) but on Saturday, I shall be attending London Pride and will be proudly waving my bisexual flag! (If you are also attending Pride, drop me a tweet @msbellebonbon, and I may see you!!) I intend to fully dress in the colours of the bisexual flag, pink, purple and blue, and this makeup tutorial is inspired by that!
